At Danielle’s Playhouse children receive attention and loving care through appropriate activities that promote learning and growth, while protecting the health and well-being of all children in the center.
We promote a creative curriculum. Exploring reading master that teaches basic decoding and comprehension skills. Decoding is taught through an explicit phonics method that stresses letter sounds and blends. Children will also explore handwriting, letters, colors, pre-math (numbers, shapes, sorting, measurement, counting), music, rhyming, matching, opposites, health, science, art, self-esteem and social/life skills.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Planning and executing an educational program of age-appropriate activities for children in care and identifying each child’s individual capabilities and needs. (Lesson plans will include at least 4 or more of the following: math, colors, science, reading, music, problem-solving, art or crafts.)
• Creating a learning environment
• Organizing and maintaining classroom activity areas, materials, and supplies, and keeping the director advised of equipment and materials that need to be repaired and replaced.
• Assist with structured play activities. Supervise and interact with children during free play or while outside playing.
• Assuring the welfare, health, and safety, of the children in the group
• Maintaining constant supervision of children
Minimum Requirements:
• All teachers must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School education
• North Carolina Early Childhood Credential
Skills:
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as a mediator between children
• Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
• Creative and energetic
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $14.00 per hour
