GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a citizen of the United States; Must be at least 21 years of age and in good physical Enforcement Officer under the requirements of the state of North Carolina. It is desired this individual have higher education, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to six years of experience. Prior law enforcement supervisory experience is also desired. Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license and have no record of a criminal offense. Must be appointed by the Moore County ABC Board (Local Board) as stated ni NCGS 18B-501(a) North Carolina criminal laws, with a primary emphasis of Alcoholic Beverage Control laws (Chapter 18B).
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
The Chief ABC Officer is to be responsible for all law enforcement matters for the local ABC Board. Additionally, he or she shall act as the official representative of Moore County ABC Enforcement, and shall recommend policy and procedure changes for law enforcement matters.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
• Manage work schedules and correlate activities/investigations with other law
enforcement agencies when necessary.
• Oversee the acquisition and maintenance of all equipment, vehicle and/or weapons,
to include repair of said equipment and property.
• Submit equipment needs to the General Manager during the annual budgeting process.
• Complete/submit the North Carolina ABC Commission Law Enforcement Report as
required by NCGS 18B. A copy of this report shall be submitted to the Moore County
ABC Board monthly.
• Ensure ABC violation reports are completed and submitted to the ABC Commission in
a timely manner.
• Work in and around ABC stores weekly, to include both inside and outside surveillance.
• Coordinate special coverage through local law enforcement agencies during heavy
sales periods such as the 4th of July, New Year’s Eve, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.
• Assist the Moore County ABC Board Management in the investigation of any possible improper and/or illegal activities by any ABC employees.
• Conduct random, unannounced inspections of al locations that have been issued an
ABC permit to sell or serve alcoholic beverages.
• Perform responsible alcohol sales classes as requested.
• Conduct underaged alcohol sales operations to ensure compliance with North
Carolina alcoholic beverage laws.
• Respond to public complaints on permitted locations.
• Must have excellent communication skills with the public and ABC employees.
• To re-establish the ABC Law Enforcement Division.
Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
