STORE MANAGER

Moore County ABC Store is hiring a Store Manager to supervise and develop sales associates to ensure smooth and efficient ABC store operations.

 

PRIMARY TASKS:

Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures for the store.

Estimate consumer demand and recommend goods to be sold.

Examine merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and displayed.

Plan and prepare work schedules. Keep records of employees' work schedules and time.

Confer with management on methods to increase sales and promote business.

Model exceptional customer service. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.

Ensure store employees receive appropriate orientation, training, and equipment.

Assign employees to specific duties to ensure appropriate inventory, merchandizing, cleanliness, and positive customer experience.

Direct and supervise employees, develop performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback.

Ensure safety, health, and security policies and procedures are followed.

Perform work activities of subordinates, such as cleaning, organizing, merchandising and sales.

Assist the public with general questions or direct to management appropriately.

Report shoplifters through appropriate processes and procedures.

Enforce alcoholic beverage laws regarding selling to underage or intoxicated persons.

Participate with store inventory and work to resolve any discrepancies and variances.

Participate in unloading merchandise from truck, storing items, and organizing it properly.

Notify management of needed repairs and safety hazards.

Document performance of subordinate employees and conduct annual performance reviews.

Support, in action and speech, the stated goals of the organization.

Performs other duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

• This position reports to the General Manager.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Employee is exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions, both hot and cold weather

Exposure to cleaning agent fumes, odors, and dust.

Employee is exposed to moderate to loud noises

Must be able to perform all basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, climbing, and balancing

Must possess the visual acuity to prepare data and statistical work with accounting processes

Must be able to perform heavy work exerting 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and 20 pounds constantly

 

JOB CONTEXT:

This position works 40 hours per week during the six-day work week.

Weekdays, weekends, and evenings necessary to fulfill the job duties.

The stress level of this job is low to moderate.

 

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Considerable experience in retail management and supervising. Special consideration given to those with experience within the ABC system.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.

Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.

Ability to keep a calm and professional demeanor, especially in stressful situations.

Ability to speak, read, and write English in a capacity sufficient to perform the tasks of the position.

Ability to discern product codes and names and complete various inventory forms.

Ability to count cash and make appropriate change.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.

Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, others, or organization to make improvements or take corrective action.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License
