SUMMARY:
The EMR Helpdesk Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Allscripts TouchWorks medical record system, clinical performance, documentation, and comprehensive improvement through initiatives that impact workflow, quality, efficiency, and clinical team experience. Participates in the development and execution of clinical integration and improvement strategies, including improved efficiencies. Under the direction of the Clinical Informatics Manager, provides analytical, technical, and problem resolution with clinical information and technology as it relates to the end-user (clinical/provider) accessibility, usability, workflow/processes, policies and procedures.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Employee will perform services for Pinehurst Surgical Clinic that may require Pinehurst Surgical Clinic to disclose confidential and proprietary information to the employee. The employee will hold the confidential information in strict confidence, will exercise a reasonable degree of care to prevent disclosures to others, will not disclose or divulge either directly or indirectly the confidential information to others unless first authorized to do so in writing by management, will not reproduce the confidential Information nor use this information commercially or for any purpose other than the performance of his/her duties for Pinehurst Surgical Clinic, and will, upon request or upon termination of his/her relationship with Pinehurst Surgical Clinic, deliver to Pinehurst Surgical Clinic any notes, documents, equipment, and materials received from Pinehurst Surgical Clinic or originating from employment with Pinehurst Surgical Clinic.

Under the direction of the Clinical Informatics Manager, provides analytical, technical, and problem resolution with clinical information and technology as it relates to the end-user (clinical/provider) accessibility, usability, workflow/processes, policies and procedures.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Manage Electronic Medical Records System
- Research and test hotfixes and upgrades to medical records system.
- Create users and assign appropriate security for all TouchWorks applications.
- Update and manage dictionaries for charting document types, order-result, charge and appointment setup.
- Build, maintain and assign task lists for e-referral and Direct ID transmissions.
- Ensure that provider credentials are up to date.
- Support and administer FollowMyHealth patient portal and work to resolve problems and bugs.
- Identify and troubleshoot user and system errors.
- Assist staff in creating and implementing effective clinical workflow.
- Collaborate with Allscripts to resolve ongoing problems.
- Create notes, text templates and forms customized per provider and departmental needs.
- Monitor system queues to ensure proper functioning of electronic prescribing, faxing/printing and CED/CCDA transfer.
- Stay abreast of any new Allscripts features and releases and evaluate if and how they could be implemented at Pinehurst Surgical Clinic.
- Maintain confidentiality of private health information
- Keep patient information private and secure.
- Screen callers prior to disclosing private health information.
- Verify signatures prior to disclosing private health information.
- Verify accuracy of outgoing fax numbers prior to releasing private health information.
- Prep, scan, and index documents electronically meeting required hourly quota.
- Prep, day forward documents making sure no staples or paper clips have been left in batches to scan.
- Count pages prior to scanning and confirm numbers to total scanned.
- Indexing documents from batches according to filing schematic.
- Fax file documents should be filed in the medical record within 24 to 48 hours from receipt.
- All scanned documents should be filed in the medical record within 48 hours from receipt.
- All First Health FTP digital documents should be filed in the medical record within 48 business hours from receipt.
- Electronic referral process - any tasked received prior to 4pm should be tasked to the referring providers task team same day.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree in Information Systems or related field preferred
- At least two years of experience in support of electronic medical records
- Experience with Microsoft Office and report building
- Experience developing and delivering training materials
- Skilled in Excel, data analysis and presentation
