The Village of Whispering Pines (VWP) is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual for the position of police officer.

This individual is responsible for preventing, detecting, and investigating disturbances and crime, responding to calls for service, performing traffic control; apprehending subjects; and executing related assignments.

The successful candidate shall be at least twenty (20) years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid North Carolina driver’s license, NC BLET probationary certification, impeccable integrity, ethics, and a strong background of professionalism. The VWP is a drug free employment environment, and all applicants will be required to pass a drug test, criminal background check, and medical/psychological testing prior to employment. Applicant must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees.

This is a full-time position with an annual salary hiring range of $40,012 - $52,515, depending upon education, experience, and certifications. In addition, in lieu of a take home car, a $3,000/year vehicle stipend will be provided.
